UT - Austin undergrads playing Holi.

Polaroid is dead they said. With the advent of digital cameras boasting of x mega pixels and y optical zoom it seemed as if the days of instant photography were over. But thanks to the “Impossible Project” by the few remaining Polaroid enthusiasts the magic of Polaroid is being rewoven.

Like there are flower beds, I chanced upon this bed of chilies at the University yesterday. By all means it was for decoration purposes only. I suppose flowers don’t survive in this heat. But couldn’t help but laugh when one asian student passing by asked “Can we take a few home and use it for cooking? At least the dried ones”.

Where the earth, sky and ocean meet. And also the fog.

At one of the many coves in Highway 1. There is possibly no highway more scenic than this one. Clear blue pacific ocean on one side and mountains on the other running through some of the most beautiful coastlines in the world.Hope to drive through the entire stretch of 1055kms someday.

Golden Gate Bridge at San Francisco covered in fog.

Our attempts to view it’s splendor on a bright day was suddenly lost when this massive fog descended on the city without any warning whatsoever. One minute it was a lovely sunny day and the next minute we had to get our warmers out.

What’s the story here? I was trying to capture photographs of a few home grown musicians at practice in one of the cafes in Austin. While they tightened their guitar strings, I noticed this vivid red wall that had strange looking wall hangings, lit brilliantly or selectively depending on where the light fell.

A classic example of getting a picture by mistake. I was trying to capture a picture of a vintage looking bus in downtown San Antonio while it waited at the red light. In my hurry I forgot to change the settings on my camera. I realised it only after I pressed down the shutter and it took a very long time to close. The result is this. I love it.
